Flight demonstration in Amsterdam
As part of the Firefly project a number of flights were conducted during a training excercise of the Amsterdam Fire Department. The excercise was held at the Shipdock terrain in the North of Amsterdam. The fire department had set fire to a number of tires in one of the docks, which gave spectacular shots from the robot helicopter [wmv, 17 Mb, 4m 13s]. The images were transmitted live to the other participants of the Firefly project, together with meta-data such as the position of the helicopter. The information was then processed in real-time and made into information products that allow the firemen to get a better situational awareness of the incident.
