Start FireFly project
On 1 January, the project "Integration of aerial observation for the command chain" was initiated together with the fire-brigade of the Safety Region of Northeast Gelderland (VNOG), NLR, Geodan and Nieuwland. The aim of the project is to research the possibilities to provide real-time information from UAVs to the command chain of safety regions. This information is not limited to photo and video but also includes measurements by gas detection sensors. The Delft Dynamics robot helicopter will be used for practical experiments and for this purpose, the UAV will be adapted to carry multiple sensors. This way, the robot helicopter serves as eyes and nose of incident controllers.
